Spread the Word

For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him?
And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him?
And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
— Romans 10:13–14 (NLT)

Inviting Someone You Know to Church

One of the simultaneously scariest,  simplest, and bravest things you can do is to tell someone far from God about how much Jesus loves them! If you're ready to be brave, we want to help... and have created the graphics below for you to share on social media to make it just a little easier.

When you ask, be prepared to hear 'no' and ready to accept it. But, in case your friend/neighbor/family member takes you up on that offer, consider doing the following:

  1. Pray beforehand! Invite God to do MIRACULOUS things, but ask Him to also give you wisdom and patience to wait on His timing! If you're comfortable doing so, maybe reach out to your church friends to let them know you've got a friend coming with you and ask them to pray, too.

  2. Offer to pick them up or meet somewhere neutral beforehand. That way, you're with them from the moment their foot crosses the threshold of the church. Even if they say no, at least you offered!

  3. Have a plan for what happens afterwards. Maybe coffee at a coffee shop to talk about what they thought! Be prepared to mostly listen.

  4. Pray after. Pray lots. Whenever you think of them and their visit, pray!

  5. Have a follow-up plan! For example, maybe plan to check in a couple of weeks later and see if they'd be interested in coming back... especially if they were unsure after the first visit. Be ready to hear that they're not ready.

  6. Don't overthink it! Remember, God can still work miracles, even when we get it all wrong! Just remember to keep Him front and center, and to do all things in love for His sake!
